When young elephants are being trained they are tied to a heavy chain and stake. It is impossible for them to break free, no matter how they struggle. Eventually they give up.
Even after the elephant grows it continues to believe that it is helpless to break free: it doesn’t even try to get out of its bondage, but it surely would if it tried!

We must break free from our wrong assumptions. And it’s easier than we think because we have the mind of Christ (1 Cor. 2:16). What wrong assumptions do you want to be free from?

Affirmations
I will change my thinking and bring it to agreement with what God says about me and my circumstances. I will remember that I can’t use faulty thinking to solve problems. I have the mind of Christ and I am no longer bound by the world’s thinking.
Personally Applied Scripture Truths
Don’t be deceived
1 John 4:1 Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
1 Cor.3:18 I must not deceive myself. If I think I am wise by the standards of this age, I should become “a fool” so that I may become wise.
Acts 17:30 Times of ignorance God overlooked, but now commands everyone everywhere to change their minds and agree with Him (repent)
John 8:32 I shall know the truth and the truth shall make me free
Prayer
Father, I tend to trust my old way of thinking even though I now know it has trapped me. I don’t know why that happens but I do know that I have choices.
I am responsible to use the authority Christ gave me.
I now have the power to identify and deny the lies. I now have the power to flee temptations. I now have the power to bring my feelings and thoughts into submission to You, God.
Dear Holy Spirit, give me wisdom and courage to make these changes so that I will walk more consistently in Your truth.
