We all have trouble seeing ourselves. We come into this world with some pre-set characteristics, inherited from our parents. The world around us then shapes our identity, often early in life, telling us a distorted story about our worth and our place. Yet God has given us both the opportunity and the responsibility to calibrate ourselves by what He says—rather than by others, our circumstances, or even the whispers that challenge who we are and question our worth, our security, our purpose. Why not let God, your Father, tell you what He sees instead?
Affirmations
I take responsibility to see myself accurately. I will set aside the opinions of others, myself, and the world around me because only God knows me perfectly. I will not allow distortions to continue.
My spirit was with the Father before the foundation of the world. I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Because He is my Creator, I will let God frame my identity, purpose and worth. Not others. Not religion. Not even myself, for I was bought with a price and I am not my own.
I bring glory to God when I believe what He says about me. I will joyfully use the gifts He has given me — spirit, soul, and body. As I learn to respect myself I will make better choices. I will not demand perfection of myself, but I am in process, and it is glorious.

God loves me and delights in me
1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on me, that I should be called a child of God! And that is what I am!
Psalm 139:13-14 For You created my inmost being; You knit me together in my mother’s womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Isaiah 43:4 I am precious and honored in His sight, because He loves me.
Zephaniah 3:17 The Lord my God is with me, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in me; in His love He will no longer rebuke me, but will rejoice over me with singing.
1 Peter 2:9 I am part of a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession.

God is my only judge

God will finish the work He started in me
Phil. 1:6 Being confident of this, that He who began a good work in me will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.
Jeremiah 31:3 He has loved me with an everlasting love; He has drawn me with unfailing kindness.
Prayer
Father God, remind me today what Your priorities are for me. Help me to see myself accurately and not look merely on the outward appearances. I trust You to complete the work You have begun in me but I want to rest in these things in the meantime. Without pride—but with godly confidence—help me to more fully possess my identity and worth as You have given it to me.
