Have you ever noticed how much of your day is spent reacting — to news, to people, to circumstances — rather than responding from a place of settled peace? Most of us were never taught another way. But there is one. God designed us to live from the inside out, drawing from a source that doesn’t shift with the weather of our circumstances. This action plan is a practical reminder of who you are, where you stand, and how to live from that place.
All of us tend to live responsively to our senses: what we (think we) see, hear, smell, taste, touch. This is our “natural normal”; living from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. But God calls us to live supernaturally, from the inside – out, finding our sustenance from the Tree of Life instead. This is not an escape from reality – far from it! Rather, this way of living is more real, more powerful, more holy, because God designed it.
Affirmations
As a child of God, I am a new creation being, a new species. I am forever secure, included, loved, protected. As a family member of God’s household, I have legal rights before the throne of God. But I must choose to exercise those rights. Henceforth, I choose to avail myself of these awesome privileges.
I choose to practice my emerging sonship in the Kingdom by exercising soul governance. I am taking responsibility for my thoughts, feelings, words and actions. I no longer blame others, but I also no longer accept others trespassing in my God given identity or purpose.
I celebrate that I am already complete in Christ, enfolded in the love of the Trinity. But I am also becoming: I am here to manifest that reality during my lifetime. These two profound truths are held in awe.
I remember that God desires my fellowship. He wants “lover” time with just me! He loves family gatherings, when we all come together as a Body. But He also craves time alone with each of us. Like any good Father, He wants me to love Him for who He is, not just what He gives me. I choose to focus on delighting God by stepping inside, in the secret place, to meet with Him.
I choose stillness, peace and rest over the noise, urgency and busyness of the world around me. Heaven is never in a hurry. I am practicing the culture of heaven when I pursue the still, small voice within me that is holy, true and powerful.
I choose to calm my body. I will breathe deeply and take in His peace. I will exhale slowly and let my body know that it is safe. I will engage my rest and restore body systems (parasympathetic) and quiet down my fight and flight responses (sympathetic nervous system) as I send my body signals that it is safe to relax.
I will practice these things as a lifestyle, not periodically, not as a rescue protocol or religious “rabbit’s foot.”
Personally Applied Scripture Truths
I belong with God because I am His child, a family member
1 John 3:1,2 What manner of love the Father has bestowed on me, that I should be called His child! (see also 2 Cor. 5:17, John 1:12)
I rest in His presence because all charges against me have forever been wiped out and cancelled. I come boldly to His presence to find help and grace and mercy.
Col. 2:14, Eph.2:6 Jesus the Christ wiped out the handwriting of requirements (legal charges) that were against me, which was contrary to me. And He has taken it out of the way, having nailed it to the cross. Not only that, but I am already seated with Christ in heavenly places. Let me therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that I may obtain mercy and find grace to help in time of need. (see also Heb.4:16, 1 John 2:1, John 14:26)
I grow in my role as a governing son as I practice personal soul governance.
Luke 21:19, 2 Cor.10:5, Prov. 4:23 By my patience I possess my soul. I will take every thought captive. I will guard my heart.
I remember that I am already complete in the spirit realm and yet I am still becoming that in the physical realm.

I choose stillness, rest and peace in the presence of the Lord
Ps. 46:10, 62:5, 37:7, Heb. 4:10 I will be still and know that You are God. My soul, wait silently for You alone, for my expectation is from You, Lord. I will rest in You and wait for You. For because I have entered into Your rest I myself also ceased from my works as You, Lord, did from Yours.
I choose what I focus on. I choose inside – out living. It will bless my soul and my body.
Ps. 4:6-8, Mt. 11:28, Is. 40:31, Ps. 4:8 I am anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, I let my requests be made known to You, and Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard my heart and mind through Christ Jesus. Whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—I will meditate on these things. I will come to You when I am weary and burdened, and You will give me rest. As I wait upon You I shall renew my strength; I shall mount up with wings like eagles. In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, Lord, make me dwell in safety.
I make it my practice, my way of life, to enter the secret place, to go inside -out, to depend on the Lord
Mt. 6:6, Ps. 91:1, Prov. 18:10 When I pray, I go into my inner chamber, my secret room, and when I have shut my door, I pray to You, who is in the secret place; and You will see what I have done in secret will reward me openly. Because I dwell in the secret place of Your Presence, I shall abide under Your shadow. Your name, Lord, is a strong tower; as Your righteous child, I run to it and am safe.
This is the life I was made for — not driven by what I see, hear, or feel on the outside, but sustained from the inside by the very life of God within me.
Prayer
Lord, I choose Your way; I say “yes” to You. I come to You now in the secret place. I thank You that You wait for me there to join You. I want to use my spiritual senses to live the way You taught me, to live continually from Your Presence, moment by moment, being sustained by the Tree of Life within me.
Help me to train my spiritual senses so that I learn to depend on them more than my earthly ones. I will see with the eyes of my heart and my inner eye will be single focused and full of light (Eph. 1:18, Mt. 6:22) Help me to have ears to hear and understand (Mt. 11:15, Rev. 2:7). I want to be the aroma of Christ to all those around me (2 Cor. 2:15). Oh, let me taste and see that You are good in every moment of my life, regardless of my circumstances (Ps. 34:8, 100:5). Touch me, Lord, with Your gentle, loving and healing embrace so that I might go and bless others likewise (Ps. 139:5, Is. 41:10, Mt. 8:3, Mark 10:16).
