We usually think of “evangelism” as taking the Good News to someone who is “unsaved”—calling people out of darkness and into the light through the message and example of Jesus Christ.
The definition of evangelism is to bring a message that brings change and transformation. And certainly, the purest evangelism is just that: introducing people to Jesus and the life-giving message He proclaimed—the Kingdom of God is within and among us, we are loved by God, and we are called to awaken and grow into mature sons and daughters who increasingly bear His likeness.
But the Good News is not a one-time message we graduate from once we are “saved.” We still need to hear it. Our souls and bodies need continuing awakening, cleansing, healing, and renewal.
Every thought that has learned a lie, every emotion shaped by fear, every painful memory, every harmful reaction—and even every place of disease or infirmity in the body—can be brought into the saving presence of Jesus: His Light, His Life, and His Love.
Perhaps, then, evangelism also begins within. We can carry the Good News into the places inside ourselves that are still living as though the Good News were not true. Our conscious minds access only a fraction of what shapes us beneath the surface — it is our subconscious minds (the mind that never sleeps, never forgets) where change needs to take place. The subconscious mind, when transformed by Christ, will radically transform us and change the world as well.
Today, you can choose to evangelize your soul and body, cell by cell, sharing the message of eternal life, light, and love in the presence and power of Jesus the Christ.
Affirmations
I choose today to exchange the “internal software”, the operating system I have been using to process my thoughts, feelings, words, and actions. My thoughts and feelings are real, but they are not always true and accurate.
I will not fight for change, but rather, I will become the change I want to see manifested in my outer reality by addressing my inner life. I realize much of what I have assumed is false, driven by what happened to me in life, choices I have made, and voices of others who gained entry to my soul. I set myself free by taking the keys Jesus gave me to unlock these lies, painful memories, and harmful reactions.
No physical disease, no mental trauma, no wrong thinking, no painful emotions can stand in the presence of Jesus Christ. For He is pure light, pure life, pure love. So today, I take Jesus with me into my soul and body. As I “evangelize my cells” with the great and awesome message of the Kingdom of God within, I know Jesus is with me shining His light and igniting mine as well.
Personally Applied Scripture Truths
I choose to awaken from my unconscious assumptions that have driven my life andl let the light of Christ shine upon them.
Ephesians 5:14 — I say, “wake, O sleeper, and arise from the dead, and Christ will shine on me.”
I am transformed by the renewing of my mind, controlling my thoughts, and guarding my heart.
Rom. 12:1,2, 2 Cor.10:5, Prov. 4:23, 3:27 I am transformed by the renewing of my mind, I will take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ and I will guard my heart, for out of it springs the issues of life. As I think in my heart, so am I.
My body is part of the deal! God wants my body to be changed (healed) in this life
1 Thess. 5:23, 3 John 2, Rom.8:11, 23, 2 Tim. 1:10 My whole spirit, soul and body is kept blameless and is intended to prosper and be redeemed. It has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
I will meet with God in the secret place where He will show me what still needs to be changed and healed so that I can shine with pure light
Ps. 91:1, Mt. 6:6, Ps. 139:23,24, Mt. 5:14, 16 I will dwell in the secret place. I will pray in there and meet with My Father. Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me and know my anxieties, and see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. I am the light of the world, a city on a hill; I will let my light shine before men.
Christ is in me and He is transforming me
Col. 1:27, 2 Cor.3:18 Christ in me is the hope of glory. With an unveiled face I behold as in a mirror Your glory, Lord, and I am being transformed into the same image from glory to glory.
Prayer
Lord, you tell me to speak to my mountain in faith and it will move (Mark 11:23) and that you have given me the keys to the kingdom! (Mt. 16:19)! Let’s meet in the secret place so I can behold Your beauty and inquire in Your temple (Ps.27:4). When we are there, I trust you to show me the way of everlasting life. I know there are lots of plantings in my soul and body that do not belong because they have been energized and given power in my life without Your light, life, or love. These are the things that are dark empowerments in my soul and body that I choose now to have Your light shine upon them-even to every cell! You are the God of light and life and love. I say YES to you!
